Today I took a walk at Olson Park in Highland Park, Illinois. This is a great place for walkers, because there's a paved path that runs around the perimeter of the park. According to my RunKeeper app, the loop is about .6 miles, give or take a little bit. I looped the park three times, and took a little time to check out the new play area.
The park also has water fountains, and several soccer fields. While I was there, I saw two other runners, and two other walkers. So, it wasn't crowded, but there were enough people there to make me feel safe.
The only downside to the park is that the playground area is really far away from the parking area. If you are coming to the park with small children, this could make it tough. However, the path is paved, so it's stroller-friendly.
Overall I walked 1.93 miles in 35 minutes. Not bad for one of my first walks in a long time!
